Synopsis
In the Ajanamasina rehabilitation center, located in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, 15-year old Joseph is imprisoned for one year for having stolen a watch. In theory, he is awaiting sentencing. For having stolen a shawl, 17-year old Victorien serves a distressing six-month sentence in Antanimora prison among 4000 adults because he is not able to prove that he is under 18 years of age. Justice follows Joseph and Victorien's daily lives over a period of several months, from the police station to their imprisonment, within the Madagascan judiciary system. By illustrating the appalling incongruity existent between the nature of the offence and the punishment, this film is a poignant testimony to the fate reserved for this generation of teenagers.
