This documentary retraces the conflict in Northern Ireland from 1968 until today, from the birth of the Civil Rights Movement, the beginning, in 1969, of a long and costly war, the setting up of the peace process in the early 90s, which culminated in two cease-fires instigated by the IRA in 1994 and 1997, to present-day negotiations uniting all the parties involved, and offering the best possible chance for peace that Northern Ireland has known for generations. Via real footage, the film explores the complexity of the conflict, and interviews of the main political leaders who have played a major role in the search for peace help us understand the situation. The point of view of the Irish is the core of the film. For them, there is nothing theoretical about the Irish question; it is a matter of war and peace, of life and death.
